Bashundhara Group Provides PPE, Masks For DGMS

Bashundhara Group (BG) has provided doctors and staff of the Directorate General of Medical Service (DGMS) with Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and masks to tackle the coronavirus situation.

The physicians, nurses and other relevant employees of the DGMS need the PPE for discharging professional duties amid the coronavirus endemic.

Bashundhara Group Managing Director Sayem Sobhan Anvir handed 1,000 PPE and 50,000 masks to Major General Md Fashiur Rahman, Director General of the Directorate General of Medical Service, at Dhaka Cantonment on Wednesday.
Bashundhara Group Vice-Chairman Safwan Sobhan Tasvir and its Adviser Maj Gen (retd) Mahbub Haider Khan were also present.

Adjutant General of Bangladesh Army Major General Enayet Ullah, Consultant Dental Surgeon General of DGMS Major General Dr. Golam Mohiuddin Chowdhory, Consultant Surgeon General Major General Dr Md Mahbubur Rahman and Consultant Physician General Major General Dr Md Azizul Islam were attended the programme.

Speaking on the occasion, Bashundhara Group Managing Director Sayem Sobhan Anvir said the country’s largest business conglomerate will continue its support for fighting the coronavirus endemic and protecting the national interests.

As part of corporate social responsibility, Bashundhara Group is going to establish a 5,000-bed hospital for treatment of corona patients.

The group has also donated Tk 10 crore to the Prime Minister’s Relief Fund.

Necessary work to establish the hospital is underway as Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina accepted the proposal of Bashundhara Group.

The 12th Engineer Battalion of Bangladesh Army and officials of the health ministry have already visited the site of the hospital and expressed satisfaction with the facilities.
